Artists’ Collaborative Gallery – Old Sacramento Auction
KVIE Live Auction Schedule
Recently, Grant exhibited 6 new photographs at the 10th Anniversary Show at the Riverfront Art Gallery. The photographs, are for the most part, black and white abstracts mounted on luminescent Japanese rice paper, instead of the traditional matting. The luminescence adds depth to the photograph. The show runs until the end of October.
KVIE is the public television station in Sacramento. Every year, they solicit art from the greater Sacramento area and auction it off to raise funds to continue their excellent programming. KVIE limits the selection and I have been fortunate to be selected again to participate in the auction. The piece from Solano Photography that was selected is of a fountain at a winery in the Carneros District of Napa Valley. The final product is a composite of 7 photographs taken around the fountain. It has been printed on canvas and is often mistaken for a painting.
This piece will be made available Saturday October 7 at 3:30 pm. One can either watch and bid on line or go to the streaming feed at KVIE.org.
Solano Photography has two photographs in the 2017 California State Fair. One in in the Photography Exhibit in Building 1 in the Expo Center. The photograph is of a horses head and in the eye, you can see a reflection of the photographer. The horse is named Mick and he belongs to a friend of mine.
The second photograph is of a butterfly. The photograph has been “adjusted” and printed on canvass to look like a painting. This photograph is on exhibit in the photography portion of the Fine At exhibit in Building 7 of the Expo Center.
The California State Fair runs from July 15 to July 30 in Sacramento.
